I loved hearing you talk about how 2015 worked out for you – a lot of what you said resonated with me, and (once again!) comes at a time where I’m thinking more critically about what I want out of life. I can tell that I’ll be mulling over this episode and wondering what I can do to simplify my life and make it more purposeful. Thank you! <3
My 2015 was very similar as I made the decision to step away from the job I had for the past 7 years, though I think it took me a little longer to focus on simplicity. I feel I spent the first half of 2015 filling my new found time with other things that didn’t necessarily bring joy, because I struggled with not being busy. I am using 2016 to build on the things I learned in 2015. Thank you for sharing.
This rings so true for me. Since taking voluntary redundancy two years ago I’ve got rid of so much stress and instead of doing things because I should, or because they’d be “good for me” my life has now magically become what is good for me. To begin with I felt I had to keep busy in order to justify not working, but over the last year I’ve relaxed into this new phase of my life so much that I totally recognise the feeling you had on holiday! I was lucky to get a redundancy payment which would take me up to the time I could take my retirement pension, but you’ve proven you can do it and still keep working. Good for you, you’re an inspiration.
