Tell us a little about your relationship with yoga — both your practice and your teaching: Yoga is my crush that never subsides. I love practicing, studying, and sharing this heart fluttering addiction.
Why do you want to bring Curvy Yoga to your community? I believe yoga can benefit all people regardless of age, shape, or background. Yoga does not define us – we define our yoga practice.
What can folks expect when they take a class from you? A killer playlist and a playful vibe.
What has been your favorite part of the certification process? Realizing the enormous difference some very minor tweaks in the mindset can make towards both practicing and teaching.

Ellen Louis
Location: Gainesville, FL
Tell us a little about your relationship with yoga. I began as one trying to alleviate back pain and I quickly transformed into someone who experiences sanctuary, body, mind and spirit, in the practice. My hope as a teacher is simply to facilitate others in finding what they need.
Why do you want to bring Curvy Yoga to your community? It is community-building at the most foundational level.
What can folks expect when they take a class from you? I tend to put the “student” in the driver’s seat. I’m like the voice of your supportive aunt who’d let you drive, I mean really trusted you to have the instincts to drive, before anyone else, even you, thought you could handle it. Coming into the long-neglected experience of the body is not at all unlike the freedom discovered when we learn how to drive for ourselves.
What has been your favorite part of the certification process? I look forward to the personal stories of other yogis. Anna and the teachers going through this process have so much relevant experience – bringing that wisdom into my own teaching toolbox can’t help but make me a more capable teacher.

Victoria Potter
Location: Bragg Creek, Alberta, Canada
Tell us a little about your relationship with yoga: I have been doing yoga for about 20 years but it started out as a practice to be endured when I was injured and couldn’t do “real” exercise. Then when I did my teacher training it changed to become a way to connect with my body on a deeper level and to connect with the universe. It became a spiritual pathway. As I practice I learn and as I teach I share and learn more from my students.
Why do you want to bring Curvy Yoga to your community? I think that Curvy Yoga is a lovely way to bring all body shapes into the teaching of yoga. It makes yoga gentle and accessible. It is important for people to know that the practice of yoga is open to them regardless of size or ability level.
What can folks expect when they take a class from you? A gentle class that focuses on the awareness of the body. I offer adaptations for the ability of each student and if I don’t know how to adapt something we work on this together to find something that feels right in their body.
What has been your favorite part of the certification process? I have loved learning the adaptation process. I love that there are so many ways to get the benefit from a pose.
